The Not-So-Secret Seven

I was tagged by Kel at Taurus Rising. It’s neat thinking of her over there in Australia, and me here in Canada, and the interconnectedness. Guess that’s why it’s called the web….

Here goes:

  1. I loathe bananas. Three out of my four children also loathe bananas, probably because I almost never buy them. That, or banana loathing is genetically linked.
  2. I was sent to boarding school when I was eleven, and I don’t remember it being all that traumatic of an event.
  3. I can make my baby toes move independently of the rest of my toes. I think it’s like being able to curl your tongue. Some people can, some people can’t. I haven’t met anyone else who can though.
  4. I lived in Indonesia for most of my childhood. Right in the middle of the jungle. No TV, no newspapers, no movies, no magazines. Just a boat that came every six months with canned goods from “civilization”, which allowed my mother to make Harvey Wallbanger cake and for us kids to eat two coveted boxes of cereal each year.
  5. When I returned to the Western World, I was surprised to discover that Cornflakes were meant to be crunchy, and that all of the dark bits in the Raisin Bran were actually raisins, not bugs.
  6. My favorite book from childhood was The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. I think I could relate to how angry that little girl got.
  7. I’ve gone all the way through medical school, but the idea of anyone poking anything into their eye still gives me the willies.

Personally, I love playing tag, and I feel all ego-gratified when I get memed, but I know that not everyone feels that way, so I’m going to leave it open for anyone on my blogroll or any lurkers out there in readerland to play along.
